It’s our 10 Year Anniversary!
We invite you to join us in celebrating the 10 year anniversary of
GLOW…
but wait,
what this?
A name change!
After multiple years competing with another GLOW event in Edmonton, we have decided the 10 year anniversary seemed like the perfect time to throw a name change at you! And after much deliberating we have landed on MARCH… because it’s in March…. It’s a double entandra for a parade… and no one else in Edmonton currently runs an event under the same name… phew!
So with that out of the way, Welcome to:
MARCH
Yay! Everyone cheers with EXCITEMENT and joy (please)

What to expect
This year CO*LAB is offering Open Play Workshops — drop in to explore our materials, try playful new techniques, and learn the craft of lantern making. Attend a single session or come to every workshop — whatever fits your schedule. We’ll have ready-made designs for those who want a guided project and extra materials on hand for makers who want to go all out. If you have a concept but need help realizing it, GABS, our lead artist, will be on site at every Open Play Workshop to assist and advise.
OUR GOAL
10 years ago we started our very first GLOW Spring Equinox Lantern Parade, a lot has changed since then (not just the snazzy new name) one of the most predominant changes has been the abscence of the beautiful lanterns we created over those 10 years.
The fire
In 2021, a fire destroyed the lantern collection stored at a nearby storage space we had been using to store the lanterns between festival, leaving only one surviving piece: the owl Darren—our dear departed friend—had left with us. We are now committed to rebuilding and expanding the collection so the festival can grow each year, deepening our collaboration with our community.
Consider donating
If you create a lantern with us, please consider donating the piece to the collection, and if you are utterly in love with your creation, we encourage you to take it with you with an invitation to join us again for our next parade!
Volunteer
Join our team as a volunteer. Your help provides us the opportunity to expand on our goals and create an event for all to attend. Volunteers play a crucial role in making our initiatives successful. By contributing your time and skills, you will help us enhance our offerings and reach a wider audience. Together, we can create memorable experiences and foster a sense of community. Your involvement is vital to achieving our mission. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and skill sets who are eager to make a positive impact. Together, let's create something exceptional.

If you would like to become a sponsor, reach out to our team; we would love to have you join our group. Together, we can create extraordinary moments that leave a lasting impact.
In Memory Of
In loving memory of Darren Radbourne, a cherished friend and valued member of the CO*LAB team. Darren was a steadfast supporter and a powerful voice for his community. His presence was felt deeply during the conception of GLOW, and his absence remains palpable each year since his passing.
To honor his memory and the light he brought to our community, we continue to showcase his owl lantern along our parade routes. This lantern serves as a lasting tribute to Darren's spirit, illuminating the path for others just as he did in life. His legacy endures in the hearts of those who knew him and in the vibrant community he helped to shape.
